This is a great opportunity for someone with strong accounting and management skills to lead a non-profit community to fulfill its mission and vision.
The Director of Accounting will lead the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll team and is responsible for the accounting and financial operations of the community.
You will streamline processes, ensure prompt and accurate monthly close and financial reporting, interface closely with internal customers as well as external stakeholders (auditors), and help guide decision-making within the company.
The ideal candidate will be self-driven, motivated, and has worked for long-term care facilities (CCRC, Personal Care Home, and Skilled Nursing).
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead the process for financial reporting, revenue recognition, account billing, collections, payroll, taxes, and other accounting functions.
Perform general ledger accounting, monthly and yearly closing of the accounting system, bank statement reconciliation, preparation of financial statements for a non-profit organization, preparation, and presentation of quarterly financial reports to the board of directors, internal monthly financial reporting to CEO, responsible for gathering and maintaining all information for year-end financial statement audit, tax return, cost reporting, coordinate the development of the financial budget and account analysis, fixed asset maintenance, and spreadsheet analysis and development.
Position responsible for the supervision of nursing home Medicare, Medical Assistance, and other third-party billing, accounts payable, and payroll.
This position reports to the President and CEO.
Required skills, education, and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA license is required or 10 to 15 years (minimum of 10 yrs.
) of significant CFO or Controller experience in Long Term Care.
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting systems and ability to apply that knowledge to long-term care and the retirement industry.
Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare-specific accounting and supervisory experience as an Accounting/Business Manager in the Long-Term Care field with a CPA license.
Have an understanding and experience in Medicare and Medicaid billing, including electronic submission of claims is preferred.
Experience in preparation of financial statements, budgets, general ledger accounting, bank reconciliation, accounting for investments, spreadsheet analysis/development, and applied working knowledge of US GAAP preferred.
Experience in providing assistance in interpreting financial trends and variances to budget and past performance.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, multitasker with the ability to prioritize work accordingly.
