ACRT is looking for candidates to fill an open contract Administrative Assistant / Assistant Business Analyst position. Under general supervision this individual will support the Transmission Forestry group and assist with tracking, verifying, and reporting cost and assist with other data analysis associated with capital and maintenance projects as assigned. Candidates should be able to use multiple software platforms to input, organize and analyze data, create reports, and improve upon current work processes.
Preference is for candidates familiar with or experienced in transmission utility forestry and its associated business practices, regulatory compliance, and policy matters.
DUTIES: This position is largely office based and administrative in nature, although opportunities to assist in the field and / or participate in field-based training may exist. In this position candidates can expect to learn products, services and technical skills while performing the following duties:
Assist management, coworkers, and contracted vendors with defined practices and procedures
Research project-specific or program-specific information, gather data, and compile reports
Analyze invoicing, project accounting, budgets, and other financial information
Develop effective working relationships within Transmission Forestry and others
Apply acquired education and experience to assigned work, develop skills, and build a foundation of knowledge in the disciplines directly and indirectly associated with transmission utility forestry
Qualifications: Two or four year degree in business or accounting is preferred, with a minimum 0-2 years professional work experience. In lieu of a degree, 2 years of direct, related experience will be considered. The experience must include a general understanding of the subject matter.
Applicants must have the ability to independently use software common to both the field and office, with a minimum of two years relevant experience. Software such as Microsoft Excel, Access and Word, SAP, FirstEnergy's Vegetation Management System (VGMS) and other database or project management-centric programs will be used to plan and monitor contracted forestry and land clearing work within the electric system infrastructure.
Professional communication skills are also needed for daily interaction, including the ability to take direction, lead others, and deliver verbal and written reports on a regular basis. In this position you will support a variety of people including management teams, system specialists, contractors and field support staff.
