Techn., Central Service
The Technician, Central Service performs a wide array of duties to provide sterile instrumentation, trays, and supplies to the Department of Surgery and other hospital departments. In addition, many vendor acquired supplies are dispensed through the Central Service Department.
Actively promotes a Lean work culture by performing team member duties to encourage consistent use of LEAN principles and processes, including continually seeking work process improvements. Recognizes the necessity of taking ownership of one's own motivation, morale, performance and professional development. Strives for behavior consistent with being committed to Excela's missions, vision and values.
Requirements HS Diploma, GED or equivalent knowledge
Certification / Licensure / Regulation:
Must currently hold or obtain within 12 months of employment one of the following certifications: Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or International Association for HealthCare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM).
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate with all members of the health care team
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Basic working knowledge of computers and office equipment
Good visual acuity,

The Westmoreland County Crisis Hotline operates 365 days a year and is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Trained counselors assist persons in crisis, responding to a variety of calls ranging from depression, suicide, and other mental health issues to financial issues. The hotline crisis counselors also assist mental health consumers, their family, and concerned citizens with community resources and support.

The Westmoreland County Crisis Hotline operates 365 days a year and is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Trained counselors assist persons in crisis, responding to a variety of calls ranging from depression, suicide, and other mental health issues to financial issues. The hotline crisis counselors also assist mental health consumers, their family, and concerned citizens with community resources and support.

The Golden Hour message is simple: If someone is experiencing symptoms of a heart attack or stroke, CALL 9-1-1 and get to a hospital within one hour. Acting in time within the first Golden Hour after symptoms begin greatly reduces the risk of damage to the heart or brain and greatly improves the chance of recovery. Our Wellness Checks are an affordable community multiphasic blood analysis available to all community members. Excela Health partners with the Rotary, Kiwanis, and volunteer fire departments to present these screenings as a benefit to our community and those we serve.

As part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, non-profit hospitals, such as ours, are required to complete a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) survey periodically.
